Earthquake: 3.5 quake strikes near Moreno Valley

A shallow magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported Sunday morning six miles from Moreno Valley, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:01 a.m. PST at a depth of 8.1 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was eight miles from Beaumont and nine miles from Perris.

In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
