With the goal of bringing together industry leaders in film and television research, consulting firm Screen Engine announced on Wednesday that is acquiring ASI Entertainment.

“This will be a game changer for all of us and especially for our clients,” Screen Engine founder and Chief Executive Kevin Goetz said in a statement. “Our hope is that we become true industry disrupters as we fuse the innovative products that our two companies have built to form the industry’s ‘go-to’ firm for all media and entertainment needs.”

The Century City company provides research and marketing information on movies.

ASI, which has been in business for more than 50 years and is in the San Fernando Valley, is known for pioneering dial testing research for television programming.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Screen Engine will continue to focus on film-related research. ASI, which will now be known as Screen Engine/ASI, will remain focused on television and advertising industries.

Screen Engine/ASI will “serve clients across the broad spectrum of film, television, gaming, digitally delivered content and beyond,” according to the news release.

Beverly Bolotin, former CEO of ASI, and Elliot Rosenberg, former ASI president, will remain with the new company.

Bolotin will serve as executive vice president of Screen Engine/ASI. “In addition to being dynamic industry innovators, they share our strong commitment to our clients’ success,” she said in a statement.

Rosenberg will now serve as senior vice president of Screen Engine/ASI. “We have always respected what Kevin built in such a very short time, and part of what attracted us was the ability to work with their cutting edge tools and best-in-class solutions that will undoubtedly propel Screen Engine/ASI forward at an accelerated rate,” he said.

Screen Engine’s clients -- which include all major studios, independent distributors and most television and cable networks -- will be able to access ASI’s focus group facilities and high-definition screening rooms.
