CinemaCon: Conventioneers tie the knot Vegas style

Share

In between meeting clients and networking at the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas, digital cinema experts Geoff Rod and Beth Ross had some other important business to tend to: getting married.

Rod, director of engineering for National CineMedia, which operates the nation’s largest cinema advertising network, and Ross, project manager for Digital Cinema Implementation Partners, were among the 5,000 people attending the annual gathering of studio executives, theater owners and movie stars.

During the convention, which ended Thursday, the couple took time out to tie the knot in classic Vegas style.

The couple, who met seven years ago while working together at NCM’s Denver headquarters, were inspired to follow in the footsteps of Betty Grable, Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Angelina Jolie and other Hollywood legends.

On Wednesday, a party limo called “The Dark Knight” (after the Warner Bros. movie) took the couple from Caesars Palace to the Little Church of the West, the chapel where Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret exchanged vows in the movie “Viva Las Vegas.”

Michael Archer, vice president of Digital Cinema at Doremi Labs, gave the bride away in a quiet ceremony surrounded by industry friends and co-workers.

Both of their employers were said to approve of the merger.
