Motorcycle passenger killed, driver injured in Pomona crash
A motorcycle passenger was killed and the driver injured Thursday night in Pomona after a collision with a car.
The crash at the intersection of Towne Avenue and Grand Avenue occurred about 8:20 p.m., said Lt. Chuck Becker of the Pomona Police Department.
The passenger, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man driving the motorcycle was airlifted to a hospital with minor injuries, Becker said, and the woman driving the car was not injured.
Becker said investigators don’t believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
The intersection was expected to remain closed for several hours.
