Two men were arrested Saturday on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the shooting of a teenage girl in Palmdale, officials said.

Jaime Espinoza, 20, and Fernando Albarran, 21, both residents of Palmdale, were booked and held on $500,000 bail, according to Deputy Ryan Rouzan, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

A third person was detained in connection with the shooting but was later released.

The girl was shot Friday just after 12 p.m. on the 37800 block of Melton Avenue.

Investigators believe the shooting is gang-related, Rouzan said.

Both men are scheduled to appear in a Lancaster courthouse on Tuesday.
