15-year-old girl in coma after skateboarding accident
A 15-year-old Murrieta girl was in a coma and on life support Thursday after she was injured over the weekend in a skateboarding accident, according to a report in the Riverside Press Enterprise.
Maddison “Mads” Olson, a sophomore at Murrieta High School, tumbled while speeding down a steep hill in Mission Viejo on Sunday. She was found unconscious, her father said in the news report.
She was not wearing a helmet.
Fire crews took the girl to the Mission Viejo campus of Children’s Hospital of Orange County. She was listed in critical condition Thursday.
“Now it’s just a waiting game,” said her father, Jason Olson. “The next couple days are critical.”
