Police on Tuesday remained unsure if a shooting in Koreatown that left two men dead was gang-related, but said that investigators were “working on the motive.”

The shooting occurred at about 1:53 p.m. Monday in the driveway of a parking lot near the intersection of South Normandie Avenue and West 3rd Street, authorities said.

The two suspects fled on foot before officers arrived and remain at large, Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Andy Neiman said.

HOMICIDE REPORT: Tracking killings in L.A. County

A spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said the identities of the two men who died have not been confirmed.

Three people were victims of homicide in Koreatown in 2013, down from eight in 2012, according to the Times’ Homicide Report.

However, there has been somewhat of an uptick in violent crimes in Koreatown, including two robberies in recent weeks within blocks of Monday’s shooting, according to Crime L.A.
