80 mph wind gusts hit L.A. mountains
Mountain areas of Southern California were battered by powerful winds on Sunday night.
According to the National Weather Service, by 10 p.m. wind gusts were clocked at 86 mph in Montecito Hills and 87 mph at Whitaker Peak in Angeles National Forest.
The weather service warned of possible downed trees and power lines along the Interstate 5 corridor.
High winds were expected to continue until about 9 a.m. Monday, the weather service said.
