Authorities in San Francisco are taking stock of the raucous fan celebrations that turned violent Wednesday night after the Giants won Game 7 of the World Series.

Most of the flames were extinguished by firefighters and police officers. But as the celebrations continued throughout the night, the violence escalated, resulting in two gunshot victims and one man being stabbed several times, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Crowds also threw bottles and fireworks at officers.

Several arrests were made, but San Francisco police were not immediately able to provide the final tally early Thursday.

San Francisco’s Municipal Transportation Agency also had to suspend service “due to safety concerns” after some revelers began jumping on buses, the agency wrote in a message posted on Facebook.
