Lindsay Lohan completes community service: ‘Hard work pays off’

Share

Actress Lindsay Lohan completed more than 100 hours of community service and is off probation in connection with a reckless driving conviction two years ago.

Just weeks ago the judge said Lohan had fulfilled only nine hours stemming from a 2012 car wreck. She took to social media on Wednesday to celebrate the completion of her hours.

With Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mark Young’s ruling Thursday, she’s officially off the hook.

“Hard work pays off. Thank you to all those that allowed me to volunteer while in NYC. God bless you all. Amen,” she said on Instagram.

Terry White, Santa Monica’s chief deputy city attorney, said Lohan completed more hours than were required. Lohan was obligated to fulfill 125 hours of community service.

“I have no other concerns and believe this completes her probationary requirements,” White said in an email Wednesday.

Lohan apparently had problems completing her community service because she was living in London and working on a play.

In February, Young tacked on 125 hours to her 240 hours of community service. The court and prosecutors had issues with Lohan allowing young people to shadow her and then logging it as community service.

She was given additional time to complete the remaining hours in New York, or face jail.

It appears Lohan was working to fulfill her court commitment.

The “Mean Girls” actress has been posting photos on Instagram showing her hard at work. She built a large playhouse for kids and worked on gardening for a women’s shelter.

Lohan’s probation stems from a reckless driving conviction. Her Porsche rear-ended a truck on Pacific Coast Highway as she was headed to the “Liz & Dick” television movie set, and Lohan denied she was behind the wheel.

In March 2013, Lohan made a plea deal that included 90 days in a rehabilitation facility and 18 months in psychotherapy.
