Nelson Ramos was booked on suspicion of felony assault following his arrest.

Police said Ramos lived in Placentia but did not say whether he lived in the apartment building where the incident occurred.

Orange County Fire Authority paramedics transported the woman by ambulance to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she was hospitalized in stable condition.

Officers determined during a preliminary investigation that the woman, who was not identified by police, was Ramos’ aunt and that they had been arguing over child care.

“Ramos pushed the victim over the railing where she fell two stories and onto the concrete walkway below,” a Placentia police statement read in part.

Police said Ramos was arrested and booked into Orange County Jail.
