Police pursuit ends with woman stripping naked in public

A woman who allegedly tried to run over her parents at their Pasadena home led authorities on a more than two-hour highway pursuit and was arrested early Saturday after undressing in public, police said.

Simone Gonzalez, 32, was arrested and booked into the Pasadena jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism, said Lt. Jesse Carrillo of the Pasadena Police Department.

The incident began about 10:30 p.m. Friday when police responded to a disturbance in the 1300 block of Linda Vista Avenue, Carrillo said. Gonzalez vandalized vehicles and her parents’ home before she tried to run them over, Carrillo said. Gonzalez fled before officers arrived.

Police found Gonzalez driving in the area and tried to stop her, but she took off and the pursuit began, Carrillo said.

Officers chased Gonzalez on the westbound 134 Freeway but eventually broke off the pursuit, he said. They already had identified Gonzalez and believed they could arrest her later, Carrillo said.

The California Highway Patrol then began its own pursuit of Gonzalez, Carrillo said. The CHP also decided to end its pursuit, but Gonzalez was spotted a third time on the 110 Freeway heading into Los Angeles, where multiple news agencies reported she wound up near Main and 3rd streets.

“She parked her vehicle, exited in the L.A. area, and at some point during that time, she undressed herself,” Carrillo said.

Los Angeles police arrested Gonzalez without incident and handed her over to Pasadena police.

No one was injured during the incident, which spanned more than two hours, Carrillo said.
