Three men were killed and one person was arrested early Friday in a suspected DUI crash on the northbound 405 Freeway in Carson, according to local media reports.

A white Toyota Prius smashed into a pickup truck before 1 a.m. near Wilmington Avenue, sending debris across all northbound lanes and forcing the California Highway Patrol to close that side of the freeway until about 6 a.m., KABC-TV reported.

Three men were killed in the crash, the CHP said. One person was arrested on suspicion of a DUI, the TV station reported.

It was unclear if there were people injured in addition to the fatalities.

“We don’t know who is involved and who stopped to assist,” said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos, adding that it was possible there were two separate collisions.

The southbound 405 remained open.
