A team of arson investigators is looking into a series of four suspicious vehicle fires that occurred in less than hour all in the same San Francisco neighborhood early Wednesday.

The first of the fires -- three of which involved sport utility vehicles -- was reported at 4:12 a.m. at Cumberland and Church streets in the Noe Valley neighborhood, San Francisco fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said.

From there, firefighters responded to three more vehicles fires in quick succession nearby, with the last blaze occurring being reported at 4:58 a.m.

The neighborhood was hit by similar car fires last month, she said.

Three vehicles and a van were set on fire in Noe Valley in November, KNTV-TV reported.

Investigators will be looking into whether Wednesday’s fires are connected to those from last month.

An arson team was gathering witness accounts and video surveillance footage in the area, Talmadge said.
