How many people are killed in officer-involved incidents?
The fatal shooting of a homeless man by Los Angeles police Sunday morning is once again focusing attention on officer-involved shootings.
This case is getting particular scrutiny because it was captured in a dramatic video. The shooting will be investigated by the LAPD, its independent inspector general and the district attorney’s office.
Here’s is an analysis of fatal officer-involved incidents (including shootings) compiled from data in the Times Homicide Report:
