Driver seen on video slamming man’s head into ground in road-rage fight

Los Angeles police are looking for a man who cracked another man’s skull during a road-rage fight in Koreatown that was captured on video.

The video shows two men squaring up to fight for more than four minutes on the sidewalk at 4^th Street and Ardmore Avenue, where they occasionally threw kicks at each other and a few punches while a bystander repeatedly tried to break up the fight.

The fight ended when the victim tried to kick the other man, who caught his leg, picked him up and body slammed him on his back into the pavement. The man’s head struck the ground and he appeared to lose consciousness.

The video shows the man then grabbing the victim by the head and slamming it into the pavement.

While others tended to the victim, the video shows, the man calmly walked back to his car, described as a white, four-door sedan, possibly a Volvo, without a working left brake light, and left.

The fight occurred about 7:30 p.m. May 26. Police released the video Thursday in hopes that someone will recognize the man who beat the victim and contact them.

The victim, whose name was not released, underwent surgery for a skull fracture and internal bleeding. He is in physical therapy and has no recollection of the incident, police said.
