Westbound California 91 reopens after multiple-car accident

A serious car accident involving at least three vehicles Monday night closed westbound California 91 at Main Street in Carson for more than an hour.

At least one person was ejected from one of the vehicles, and there were reports of two more people trapped. One car was on fire.

The area reopened about 10:45 p.m.

The first call about the accident came in about 9:30 p.m., L.A. traffic management officials said.

Traffic was jammed from Wilmington Avenue, officials said.
