2 LAPD officers injured during altercation with suspect

Two Los Angeles police officers were injured Monday night during a scuffle with a person in Koreatown, authorities said.

Shortly after 9 p.m., a bystander flagged down the two officers on patrol near Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue to alert them to a person on the street, LAPD spokesman Mike Lopez said.

The officers approached the person, and an altercation ensued, Lopez said.

It’s unclear what prompted officers to approach the suspect, and the exact injuries sustained were not immediately available.
