Flaunt magazine and denim brand Cult of Individuality came together Tuesday night to throw a Beverly Hills dinner party so star-studded we walked away with a serious case of periodical envy.

The dinner was held to honor actor Norman Reedus (“The Walking Dead”) who appears on the cover of the L.A.-based magazine’s “location issue”(#140), which is currently on newsstands. It might be tempting to dub the whole affair a pre-release party, but Flaunt’s March issue actually hit the streets in mid-February.

Although Reedus was the man of the hour, he wasn’t the only cover celebrity at the table. In a pre-dinner round of congratulatory toasts a Flaunt staffer lifted a glass in recognition of “three covers over the last six months” — the other two being Diane Kruger (issue #138) and Aaron Paul (#136).

Also at the table (well, three tables, actually) were burlesque queen Dita Von Teese (a former Flaunt cover herself who crops up in the periodical’s pages on a not infrequent basis), recording artist Ty Dolla $ign and Los Angeles Laker / fashion plate Nick Young, who told us he’s appearing in an eight-page fashion spread in Flaunt’s next issue (the “elixir issue,” #141), which should be hitting newsstands sometime next week.

Before sitting down to dinner we unexpectedly found ourselves elbow-to-elbow with Reedus and, since we’re not regular “Walking Dead” watchers, we decided to ask him about his April 4 surprise in-character cameo during “Saturday Night Live’s” Weekend Update segment.

“It was totally a bucket-list moment for me,” Reedus said. “The real weird thing was, I’m standing there offstage waiting to go on and I look at the guys and they’re sitting there at the [anchor] desk in shirts, ties and jackets from the waist up but from the waist down they’re in shorts and sneakers.”

Which means one of two things: Either the weird wardrobe combination at the anchor desk helps with quick costume changes, or this whole athleisure trend has gotten way out of control.
