Marisa Tomei among hosts for a Current Affair vintage market

Actress Marisa Tomei is to be one of the hosts of A Current Affair’s next vintage pop-up market, scheduled from 1 to 7 p.m. April 4 in the penthouse of the Cooper Design Space, 860 S. Los Angeles St., in downtown L.A.

More than 50 vintage dealers are expected, offering clothing, jewelry, accessories and more. The event also features DJ Marion Hodges of KCRW, an open bar sponsored by Chareau, and food.

Besides Tomei, hosts include choreographer Fatima Robinson, actress Nathalie Kelley and stylist/photographer Melodi Meadows.

Admission is $10 at the door ($20 for early admission at noon), with discounted tickets available in advance at itsacurrentaffair.com.

Jodie Fox, founder of Australia-based shoe company Shoes of Prey, is schedued to teach “shoe school” for customers at Nordstrom at Fashion Island from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Nordstom recently added Shoes of Prey “Design Your Own Shoes” studios at its Fashion Island and San Francisco Centre stores. In the studio, customers can select from 12 shoe shapes, more than 170 fabrics, numerous heel heights and embellishments to design their own footwear. Denim brand Talley, which makes made-to-order jeans, plans to open a pop-up shop from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 26 through March 31 at 3903 Sunset Blvd. in Silver Lake.

Openings

Nasty Gal has a weekend full of special promotions planned to celebrate the opening of its Santa Monica store, at 1254 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica. The grand opening celebration is set for noon to midnight Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. The first 150 customers each day are to receive limited-edition Santa Monica crop tops. The weekend-long celebration also includes scratch-off promo cards, a photo booth, snacks and music.

Sample Sales
