James Corden’s ‘Late Late Show’ gets a start date

The new “Late Late Show” with host James Corden will debut on CBS on Monday, March 9.

The British actor and comedian was announced earlier this year as the successor to Craig Ferguson, whose final episode of “Late Late Show” will be on Dec. 19.

Additionally, the network announced on Thursday that Corden’s version of “The Late Late Show” would be executive produced by the host’s longtime friend, Ben Winston. The pair have known each other since Winston was 17.

Winston is also well known as the executive producer of the U.K.’s version of “The X Factor.”

The pair worked together for Corden’s four years hosting the Brit Awards, and co-wrote several sketches for Corden during the Red Nose Day charity telethons.

This year will also see Corden appearing on the big screen in “Into the Woods” and “Begin Again.”

With a start date for the new “Late Late Show” in place, the big question mark is now figuring out when David Letterman will end his “Late Show” tenure for Stephen Colbert to take his place.

Colbert signs off from “The Colbert Report” in December as well. And then it’ll just be a matter of waiting around.
