ABC stations pick up Tyra Banks-led daytime talk show for 2015

Disney-ABC announced Monday that its station group has signed on as the initial launch partner for the upcoming syndicated lifestyle show “The F.A.B.” for fall 2015.

As previously announced in May, the talker (whose working title is intended as an acronym for Fun and Beautiful), will take on topics such as food, beauty and design.

The show will feature Tyra Banks, who makes her return to daytime four years after her Warner Bros.-produced syndicated talk show went off the air, as the panel’s moderator. She’ll be joined by Yahoo! Fashion and Entertainment editor-in-chief Joe Zee, model Chrissy Teigen, interior designer Lauren Makk and YouTube star Leah Ashley.

The syndicated talk show will be produced by Disney-ABC’s Summerdale Productions and distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television.

The ABC-owned station group currently secured consists of eight stations and represents 23% of the nation’s TV households, and six of the top 10 markets, including Los Angeles’ KABC-TV. More non ABC-owned stations are expected to be secured ahead of its launch.

The gabfest brings yet another panel talk show to the daytime scene, adding to the group discussions set forth by recently-revamped “The View,” also owned by ABC, and steady ratings performer “The Talk,” as well as “The Real” and “The Chew.”

The show will broadcast from Los Angeles and Banks will serve as executive producer.
