“Trainwreck” writer-actress Amy Schumer sure doesn’t seem to be in any danger of derailing. The ascendant comedian has signed on to star in and co-write an untitled mother-daughter comedy for Fox, a studio spokesperson confirmed to The Times.

Schumer will write the film with her sister, Kim Caramele, with whom she has collaborated on “Trainwreck” (opening July 17 from Universal) and her namesake Comedy Central series, “Inside Amy Schumer.” The plot involves a mother-daughter duo on a vacation gone awry.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.

Schumer and Caramele will work from a script originally penned by Katie Dippold, a frequent Paul Feig collaborator whose credits include Fox’s “The Heat,” its in-the-works sequel and Sony’s upcoming “Ghostbusters” reboot.

Feig and Jessie Henderson are producing the movie, which does not yet have a director or release date.

Schumer has emerged as a breakout star since finishing fourth on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2007, thanks to relentless touring and two well-regarded seasons of “Inside Amy.” This year alone she made a splash at SXSW, hosted the MTV Movie Awards and unveiled the third season of her show, which has seen several sketches go viral.
