NCIS A new crossover story with “NCIS: New Orleans” begins when Abby’s (Pauley Perrette) brother (Tyler Ritter) becomes the prime suspect in the poisoning of the passengers and crew of a private plane traveling from New Orleans, 8 p.m. CBS. The story concludes at 9 p.m.

New Girl Jess (Zooey Deschanel — who’s become a real-life mom since last season) decides to throw an big engagement party for Schmidt and Cece (Max Greenfield, Hannah Simone) but doesn’t realize that Cece hasn’t told her mother (Anna George) in the season premiere of the quirky comedy. 8 p.m. Fox

Brooklyn Nine-Nine The police comedy starts its new night with Kathryn Hahn guest starring as Charles’ (Joe Lo Truglio) ex-wife. Andy Samberg, Terry Crews and Andre Braugher also star. 9 p.m. Fox

Frontline The new episode “Netanyahu at War” traces the career of Israel’s prime minister. 9 p.m. KOCE and KPBS

The Grinder Timothy Olyphant (himself) makes romantic moves on Claire (Natalie Morales) that Dean (Rob Lowe) is not at all comfortable with, in this new episode. Jimmy Kimmel also guest stars as himself. 9:30 p.m. Fox
