CBS, PBS tie for most Daytime Creative Arts Emmys

The daytime lineups of CBS and PBS took home the most awards at Friday night’s Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, with 17 each.

Leading the way was CBS’ soap opera, “The Bold and the Beautiful,” which grabbed eight awards, including wins for its technical team, hairstyling and Fred Willard as a guest performer.

The Daytime Creative Arts Emmys recognize the technical work of people on programs broadcast from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This year’s awards were cohosted by “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek and “Brady Bunch” mom Florence Henderson at the Hilton Universal City Hotel.

PBS won five awards for its long-running kids show, “Sesame Street,” as well as its new kids program, “Odd Squad.” It also won writing awards for “Peg+Cat” and “WordGirl.”

Amazon made its first showing in the Daytime Emmy wins with five awards for its stop-motion animation kids program, “Tumble Leaf,” which took the award for outstanding preschool children’s animated program.

The Daytime Emmy Awards telecast is set for Sunday at 5 p.m. PDT on the cable channel Pop.
