What can viewers expect when Miley Cyrus hosts Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards? She gave a glimpse of the possibilities when she topped off an eventful visit to "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" by going undercover on the streets of Los Angeles, disguised in a dowdy brunet wig as an Australian reporter named Janet.

Janet's assignment? Determine what average Americans think of Miley Cyrus.

Reminiscent of the high jinks set into motion with disguises and hidden identities on her old Disney Channel show "Hannah Montana," hilarity ensued as Cyrus garners a wide variety of responses from passersby on Hollywood Boulevard.

One held her responsible for the unraveling of the moral fiber of the country; another said he thought that Hollywood has driven the child star mad. Then there was the guy who had a marked interest in the idea that Cyrus may be hosting the VMAs nude.

The video eventually concluded with Cyrus admitting who she was to the man and proving her identity by providing him with a quick glimpse of her chest. The move wasn't particularly scandalous given that Cyrus had already twerked on the street with two young girls and appeared on "Kimmel" wearing heart-shaped pasties.

All in all, the outing proves to be a pretty tame, pretty funny turn for the oft-controversial pop star. The question is whether Cyrus will keep her VMAs hosting duties limited to stage talk at L.A.'s Microsoft Theater on Sunday, or if she has another undercover taped segment to reveal.

The VMAs are to air live at 6 p.m. PDT/9 p.m. EDT.
