Drake now has a new view: from the No. 2 slot on the albums chart.

The MC had been on a hot streak atop the Billboard 200, staying perched at No. 1 for 12 nonconsecutive weeks with his LP “Views” (with a brief knockout from Blink-182). This is owed in large part to the massive streaming success of singles such as “One Dance” and “Controlla.”

But DJ Khaled, the radio fixture, Snapchat inspiration and wrangler of high-profile collaborators such as Jay Z and Kendrick Lamar, finally booted him from the top slot with “Major Key.”

That album sold 95,000 equivalent album units in its first week, 59,000 of which were traditional, bought-in-full LPs (the album was initially only available via Apple Music and iTunes; it hits the CD format Aug. 12). It was Khaled’s best sales week since 2007, when “We The Best” opened to 79,000 albums sold.

Khaled’s no stranger to the top 10 — he’s had seven albums land up there, most recently 2012’s “Kiss the Ring” at No. 4.

However, he shouldn’t get too comfortable up there. The “Suicide Squad” soundtrack, which boasts a range of acts from Skrillex and Rick Ross to Grimes and Panic! at the Disco, is widely expected to claim the top spot next week.
