Ringo Starr will celebrate his 75th birthday on Tuesday with a little help from his friends, including filmmaker David Lynch, Eagles guitarist-songwriter Joe Walsh and musician Edgar Winter, outside Capitol Records in Hollywood.

In addition to the milestone birthday, Starr is presiding over the 10th installment of his annual “Peace & Love” ceremony, in which he invites fans worldwide to utter those words with him (or post them on social media) at noon that day in whatever time zone they are in.

“It’s become a real thing,” Starr told Chris Carter, host of the long-running “Breakfast With the Beatles” radio show on Sunday during a call into the show. “It’s not just a fad.”

The ritual began in 2005, when Starr was asked what he wanted for his 65th birthday. “More peace and love,” he replied. That led to his annual invitation for “everyone everywhere to think, say or do #PeaceAndLove at Noon their local time,” Starr said in a statement, referencing the hashtag used by those who post messages on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or other outlets.

Starr also will be joined by his wife, actress Barbara Bach, celebrated studio drummer Jim Keltner, former Guns N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum, as well as several members of the touring All-Starr Band, including Richard Page, Gary Wright, Richard Marx and Gregg Bissonette.

There has been no word on whether Starr’s former Beatles band mate -- Paul McCartney -- will make an appearance. McCartney turned up for Starr’s 70th birthday celebration in New York in 2010, and they also took part on an onstage reunion performance at Radio City Music Hall.

Starr isn’t scheduled to perform Tuesday, but some of his songs will be played live by Spirit Family Reunion and Adam Arcuragi.

The event is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. at 1750 N. Vine St., Hollywood. Vine Street will be closed to motor vehicles Tuesday morning.
