Watch: Lily Allen feeds a zebra in video for ‘Air Balloon’

Lily Allen attracted a fair bit of controversy in November with the music video for her song “Hard Out Here,” which was accused of objectifying black women even as the song criticizes what Allen views as a culture of objectification.

Perhaps that’s why the British pop star plays it somewhat safer in her new video.

Posted Thursday on YouTube, Allen’s “Air Balloon” clip finds her hanging out in a field with some bearded hippie types, a swarm of brightly colored butterflies and several zebras, one of which she takes a moment to feed by hand. (She also goes briefly to outer space, where a giant crucifix flies overhead like the ship at the beginning of “Star Wars” -- so maybe she’s not done with controversy yet?)

“Air Balloon,” which Allen co-wrote with the young Swedish producer Shellback, is the second single (after “Hard Out Here”) expected to appear on the singer’s upcoming studio album, her anticipated follow-up to 2009’s “It’s Not Me, It’s You.” She has another new song, “L8 CMMR,” on the latest “Girls” soundtrack, due out next week.
