It’s been two years since Maroon 5 released its last album, “V,” and plans for a new one have yet to be announced. However, that isn’t stopping the band from continuing to release music that will likely be stuck in your head for the next 18 months.

The group released a new single late Tuesday entitled “Don’t Wanna Know” featuring lead singer Adam Levine crooning about how he doesn’t want to know about who, precisely, is taking his ex home now that he’s gone.

But the most exciting part of the new track is the guest verse by rapper Kendrick Lamar, who also spends his 18-second contribution pining over an ex, rapping, “No more ‘please stop’/ No more hashtag #BoodUp screenshots/ No more tryin’ make me jealous on your birthday,” during his verse.

The video for “Don’t Wanna Know,” directed by David Dobkin (“Wedding Crashers”), is scheduled to premiere Friday on NBC’s “Today.” The band is also planning a live performance of the song on Nov. 3 on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

For those looking to hear the new track live and in person, Maroon 5 has two upcoming concert dates in California, playing Saturday in Sacramento and Sunday in Oakland.
