Three keys to the Ducks beating the Jets, 5-4, in Game 3

The Anaheim Ducks took a dominant 3-0 series lead in their Stanley Cup first-round playoff series against the Winnipeg Jets Monday night at the MTS Centre.

Here are three keys to the victory.

1) Fans in Winnipeg, shut out of NHL playoff hockey here since 1996, continually lifted the Jets with their loud chants and pulsating energy. How could any Jet justify giving up on a play when fans never gave up their dream of getting a team back and seeing playoff hockey again?

2) Balanced scoring carried the Ducks. them. Five players each scored a goal and eight players had at least one point. Defensively, only one player had a negative plus/minus rating — Matt Beleskey, at minus-1.

3) Resilience. The Ducks continue to tempt fate and come out on the winning side. On Monday, they became the first team in NHL history to win three consecutive playoff games after when trailing at any point in the third period of all three games.
