ZO Skin Centre to open at Fashion Island
Skin expert Dr. Zein Obagi is opening a new ZO Skin Centre flagship at Fashion Island on Friday. It’s the first in a planned chain.
Opening weekend events include a skin Q&A from noon to 12:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and complimentary, by-appointment skin analysis consultations with Obagi or plastic surgeon Dr. Aaron Kosins from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday and with Kosins from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. (Call [800] 960-9672 to book).
There will also be hand massages, makeup touch-ups by Blushington, special offers on facials, specialty coffees from Nespresso and artisan chocolates from Valenza Chocolatier.

Architect Eui-Sung Yi is scheduled to speak on “Morphosis Architects in Asia” from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at m0851, the Canadian leather goods store at 1426 Montana Ave., Ste. 2, Santa Monica.
Pop-ups
Fashion Island plans a Saturday Style pop-up event focused on summer resort and swimwear from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Rebecca Taylor, Seafolly and Trina Turk have curated pop-up “style closets,” which will be in various locations around the mall. The three retailers are all offering various promotions too. Fashion Island is at 40 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach.
Belgian label Maison Ullens, which offers luxe women’s clothing handcrafted in France and Italy, is opening its first Los Angeles pop-up next week. The shop is scheduled to be open June 2 through 6 at 109 S. Robertson Blvd. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Wildfox has opened a summer pop-up at Desert Hills Premium Outlets, offering 50% off already discounted merchandise. The pop-up is to remain open during mall operating hours through July 30 at 48650 Seminole Drive, Ste. 202 in Cabazon.
Sample sales
L.A.-based luxury accessories label Hammitt plans a seventh anniversary celebration and sample sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Manhattan Beach Studios, 1600 Rosecrans Ave., Manhattan Beach. The event is also a fundraiser for Walk With Sally, which is to receive 100% of proceeds from sales of $100 “early access” tickets that allow shoppers in from 9 to 10 a.m. (General admission beginning at 10 a.m. is free.) The first shopper in line will receive a free Hammitt bag, and three bags will be raffled every 10 minutes from 10 a.m. to noon. There will also be Priv manicures, massages, a braid bar and more. Beyond Yoga has a sample and moving sale planned from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 5807-B Uplander Way, Culver City. Prices will be up to 85% off on clothing sized XXS to XL. Furniture and office equipment will also be for sale. All sales final; cash and credit cards.
Handbag and accessories maker Clare V’s sample sale is set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 3249 Casitas Ave., Los Angeles. The brand is designed by Los Angeles-based Clare Vivier.
Openings
Sephora is scheuled to open Friday at Waterside at Marina del Rey, 4766 Admiralty Way. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
