Wait a minute, Doc.

Immersive film experience company Secret Cinema, which puts together screenings of old and new films, announced it will bring “Back to the Future” to Los Angeles next summer.

From July 31 to Aug. 31, more than 75,000 people ditched their cellphones, took on new identities and made their way to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford for Secret Cinema’s screening experience.

When purchasing their tickets, moviegoers were each assigned a new character for the “Back to the Future” world: A re-creation of Hill Valley, where the film takes place.

Upon arrival, the company also made audience members leave their cellphones at the door as they wandered around Town Hall (and its famous clock tower), the high school, Lou’s Cafe, Dr. Brown’s mansion, two Deloreans and more.

The film experience bumped “Back to the Future” back into the box office top 10 in Britain for the first time since its release in 1985.

After a successful monthlong run in Britain, the company said in a statement that the live cinema event’s L.A. launch will correlate with the film’s 30th anniversary.

Fabien Riggall, founder and creative director of Secret Cinema, said in a statement that he hopes the company will continue changing the moviegoer experience.

“We looked to build the most epic and detailed experience of this classic and wonderful film,” he said. “Audiences are looking for something different, they want to be part of the story and take part in an adventure through the films and music they love. We shall continue to push the boundaries of what we do to allow for another way of experiencing culture.”
