Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Saturday, the first time he’s delivered a pitch from a mound since he underwent a foot operation two months ago.

“Really good day for me today,” Jansen said.

Jansen said he was told by trainers to refrain from throwing as hard as he could. He said his fastball touched 86 mph.

“Body’s in shape, arm’s in shape,” he said.

Jansen said he expects to return from the disabled list in the first half of next month.

The next step in preparing himself for his return will be to throw a few more bullpen sessions, followed by live batting practice. After that, he expects to pitch in minor league games.
