TV ratings: ‘Sunday Night Football’ dominates; ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ up

“Sunday Night Football” dominated the night in TV ratings.

The New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys game on Fox was the No. 1 most watched program of the night with about 22 million viewers and a rating of 7.4 in the key 18-to-49-year-old demographic, according to early Nielsen ratings.

Due to live NFL coverage, ratings for Fox (from 7 to 8 p.m.), CBS (from 7 to 7:30 p.m.) and NBC(for the night) are approximate.

The San Francisco 49ers-Denver Broncos game on NBC earned a rating of 7.0 in the key demographic, making it the second most watched program of the night. It averaged about 20.5 million viewers.

In metered markets, the telecast averaged a 14.8 rating, the best “Sunday Night Football” overnight rating since the Sunday season premiere on Sept. 7.

With a football-dominated night, NBC topped the night with about 17.4 million viewers and a rating of 5.9 in the key demographic.

Fox came in second with a rating of 3.6. “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” was up 14% from last week with a rating of 2.5 in the key demographic with a rating of 2.5. It tied for eighth most watched program in the key demographic with “Family Guy,” also on Fox.

Meanwhile, CBS’ “Madam Secretary” was the fourth most watched program overall and first most watched non-sports broadcast. The show averaged 12.4 million viewers. It stayed even with last week in the key demographic with a rating of 1.4.

“The Good Wife” also posted a rating of 1.4 in the key demographic and averaged 10.8 million viewers.

The network, which also telecast “60 Minutes” and “CSI,” was second most watched overall with about 10.8 million viewers. It was fourth in the key demographic with a rating of 1.4.

On ABC, “Once Upon a Time” stayed even with last week with a rating of 2.7 in the key demographic. The show averaged 7.9 million viewers.

“Revenge” was up 8% from last week with a rating of 1.3 in the key demographic. “Resurrection” fell 7% and tied its series low with a rating of 1.4 in the key demographic.

The network was third most watched in the key demographic with a rating of 1.6.
