Baseball: Granada Hills junior Chris Murphy commits to California
Chris Murphy, a junior left-handed pitcher from Granada Hills, has committed to California.
He was brought up from junior varsity in the middle of last season and became a standout. He threw a one-hitter against City Section Division I champion Birmingham to end the regular season and was the winning pitcher in a playoff game against San Fernando.
“He’s just coming into his own,” Coach Steve Thompson said.
In another commitment, Glendora senior pitcher Ryan Beyer has committed to Pacific.
