Queens of the Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen buys in Glendale

Troy Van Leeuwen, the guitarist for Queens of the Stone Age, has purchased a home in Glendale for $1.365 million.

The Spanish-style home, built in 1936, waxes bohemian with exposed beams, detailed ceiling treatments, expressive tile and a period fireplace. The multi-level floor plan has a formal living room, a dining room, three bedrooms and 3.25 baths in 2,921 square feet.

Outdoors, tiered grounds contain a pool and spa, a pool house, an outdoor dining room and a fire pit. A two-car garage also resides on the quarter-acre property.

Van Leeuwen, 44, was a guitarist for A Perfect Circle, an alt-rock group formed by Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan, before joining Queens of the Stone Age. The Los Angeles native is also a member of the band Sweethead, which he formed in 2008.

The property originally came to market in May with an asking price of $1.35 million, according to public records. Margi Simpkins of Coldwell Banker was the listing agent. Carrie Eckert of Sotheby’s International Realty represented Van Leeuwen in the sale.
