Who’s No. 1 in prep football? The pollsters can’t agree
The prep football season is over, but the pollster can’t agree who’s No. 1.
USA Today has Las Vegas Bishop Gorman No. 1, Concord De La Salle No. 2 and Allen High from Texas No. 3.
MaxPreps Xcellent 25 has Allen No. 1, Bishop Gorman No. 2 and De La Salle No. 3.
MaxPreps Freeman Rankings has De La Salle No. 1, Bishop Gorman No. 2 and Allen No. 3.
Maybe we should ask Corona Centennial Coach Matt Logan for his vote, because Centennial lost to Bishop Gorman, 43-42, and lost to De La Salle, 63-42.
“That’s tough,” Logan said. “Bishop Gorman has more athletes, but it’s hard to stop that De La Salle offense.”
One thing everyone seems to agree on: The season deserves to be over. No extra games this late in December.
“We’re done,” Logan said.
Let the fans debate who’s No. 1. No extra game is needed.
