Baseball: Adrian Acosta of Chatsworth has a five-hit day

After becoming eligible on April 6 following the situout period for transferring from Simi Valley, Adrian Acosta of Chatsworth must be finally becoming comfortable in his new surroundings.

On Saturday, he finished with five hits, including a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh, to give Chatsworth an 8-7 win over South Torrance.

Marshall received three RBI from Steven Recinos in a 5-4 win over Taft. Jacob Davies had a three-run home run and Jayson Newman homered for Taft.

Banning defeated Roosevelt, 6-0, behind pitcher Ivan Martinez. Narbonne defeated Westchester, 8-4. Guillermo Vasquez threw five shutout innings. Daniel Rocha had two hits and two RBI.

El Camino Real defeated Verdugo Hills, 6-1. Matt Malconian had the complete game. Jake Baer went three for four with a home run. Colton Snyder and James Terrazas also hit home runs.

Hart defeated Palos Verdes, 9-5. Sherman Oaks Notre Dame defeated Oak Hills, 9-3.

Felix Rubi struck out eight in Kennedy’s 2-0 win over Chaminade. Luis Campos had two hits. Damien Delgado led Chaminade with two hits.

Saugus defeated Palisades, 5-1, in nine innings. Joey Mendez hit a walk-off grand slam.

Cleveland defeated Huntington Park, 14-4. Raudel Martinez had two hits and three RBI. Sammy Villa and Ben Kaser added two RBI each.

Birmingham defeated Garfield, 5-4. Jorge Navarette had two RBI.

El Segundo defeated La Mirada, 12-4. Noah Bergren contributed four RBI and Jake Palmer had three hits. Oaks Christian defeated Dos Pueblos, 8-6. Riley Helland had a home run and double.

Harvard-Westlake stayed unbeaten in nonleague games with an 11-1 win over Gardena Serra. Cameron Deere went three for four with three RBI. Three pitchers combined on a no-hitter.

Cypress defeated North Torrance, 4-3, in eight innings. The Centurions scored three runs in the eighth. Dominic Fletcher had a home run and double.Westlake defeated Santa Barbara, 4-3. Nicky Woodall had two hits and two RBI.

Newbury Park defeated Granada Hills, 4-0. Kyle McCormick threw five shutout innings.

Alemany defeated Bishop Amat, 13-2. Brandon Lewis and Cristian Montes each had three hits. Ruben Cardenas had a three-run triple. Alemany is 15-6. Venice defeated North Hollywood, 7-2.

Tesoro defeated Edison, 6-4.

Redondo advanced to the championship game of its own tournament with a 6-2 win over Camarillo. Redondo will play Long Beach Millikan in next Saturday’s final at 6 p.m. at Redondo. Redondo is 19-5.
