Girls’ volleyball: More forfeits coming in City Section uniform controversy

Share

North Hollywood isn’t the only girls’ volleyball team in the East Valley Valley that’s going to have to forfeit a match for wearing uniforms that didn’t match their school colors.

Grant wore black uniforms in three matches this season, Athletic Director Bill Foster said. Two of the matches were victories over Chavez and Monroe. Foster said he’s waiting for City Section Commissioner John Aguirre to make a final ruling.

North Hollywood had to forfeit a win over Arleta for wearing black uniforms. The Huskies were turned in by assistant athletic director Kenny Harris, who’s also the league commissioner. Foster said he received a call from Aguirre inquiring about the Lancers wearing black uniforms.

It’s a City Section rule that schools can’t wear uniforms that don’t include their school colors. Grant’s colors are orange, brown and white.
