Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Mammoth Lakes, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Monday evening 15 miles from Mammoth Lakes, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 11:10 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.7 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 66 miles from Clovis, Calif., 67 miles from Sanger, Calif. and 70 miles from Reedley, Calif.

In the past 10 days, there have been seven earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
