Meanwhile, back on the walking wounded front.

If it seems as if there are more injured Dodgers than healthy ones, it’s only a slight exaggeration. Some are gone for the season, others may be, but for now let’s concentrate on those visible on the horizon.

Here’s a little Thursday update on the Dodgers’ fife and drum corps:

-- Hanley Ramirez (oblique) took early batting practice Thursday and is on track to be activated when he is eligible to come off the disabled list Sunday.

“With Hanley, it’s just a matter of him continuing baseball work, basically continuing running and different things like that,” said Manager Don Mattingly. “I feel like he’s going to be ready to go Sunday, without any kind of setback.”

The Dodgers are 5-6 since he went on the DL.

-- Juan Uribe (hamstring) joined Ramirez for early BP and also looked good. He started taking infield and throwing Wednesday.

“So he’s into the baseball phase,” Mattingly said. “And he has more time to see how the leg goes from here.”

This is the second this season Uribe has suffer a hamstring injury, so the Dodgers figure to be plenty cautious with his return. He just went on the DL Saturday.

-- Hyun-Jin Ryu (buttock) threw off the mound, and if it was light and easy, it still represented a touch of unexpected progress.

“A little bit,” Mattingly said. “I don’t think he did much but just throwing a little big downhill. It wasn’t like a [regular] bullpen. It was more throwing off an angle and seeing if he felt anything.

“It sounds like that went pretty well. Stan [Conte, head trainer] seems happy where that went and is feeling pretty good about what’s going on with him.”

Mattingly doesn’t think Ryu will need a rehab assignment before returning. He said Ryu should be activated within a day or two of when he’s eligible to come off the DL on Aug. 29.

-- Chris Perez (ankle) game out of his first rehab appearance fine and is scheduled for his next one Friday with Class A Rancho Cucamonga. Mattingly doesn’t expect him back to early September.

-- Paco Rodriguez (shoulder) threw off the mound Wednesday at about 70%, Mattingly said. He hopes Rodriguez can make a rehab appearance before the minor-league season ends Sept. 1.

-- Josh Beckett (hip) actually has no particular update. If he has surgery, his season is over, so there’s no harm in at least seeing whether it responds to treatment.
