One streak had to end.

The Warriors’ win streak improved to 10 games after their 110-106 win over the Clippers on Tuesday. The Clippers, who entered the game having won seven straight by an average of 14.9 points, lost their first game since March 15.

The Clippers led by as many as 17 points in the first half before the Warriors took their first lead of the game, 72-71, with just over 4 minutes left in the third quarter after Stephen Curry made a three-pointer.

The fourth quarter was a battle until the end. With the Warriors up by one point, 103-102, with 1 minute and 10 seconds left, the referees called a foul on Matt Barnes as Andre Iguodala attempted a three-pointer. Iguodala made each of his free throws to put the Warriors up by four, 106-102.

Chris Paul made a driving layup with 12.9 seconds remaining to cut the Clippers’ deficit to two, 106-104. Barnes then fouled Curry, a 91.6% free throw shooter, with 11.6 seconds left. Curry made both of his shots to put the Warriors back up by four, 108-104.

Klay Thompson made two more free throws for the Warriors with 9.3 seconds remaining to put the team up by six, 110-104. Chris Paul made a layup in the final seconds, but it wasn’t enough for the Clippers.

The Warriors entered Tuesday’s game having lost their last four games at Staples Center against the Clippers. With the win, the Warriors won their season series with the Clippers, 3-1.

The Clippers’ bench was outscored by the Warriors’ reserves, 34-12, as Jamal Crawford missed yet another game because of a bruise in his right calf. The Warriors also moved the ball much better, getting 28 assists to the Clippers’ 19.

In Blake Griffin’s ninth game back since having surgery to remove a staph infection from his right elbow, he had 40 points on 16 for 25 shooting from the field, 12 rebounds and five assists. Chris Paul had 27 points -- though it took him 17 shots to get them -- and nine assists.

J.J. Redick had a bit of an off night, scoring 14 points on four for 12 shooting, including making only one of his six three-point attempts. DeAndre Jordan also had a quiet scoring night, making only one of his five field goal attempts to finish with five points and 15 rebounds.

The Warriors were led by Curry and Thompson, who had 27 and 25 points, respectively.

The Clippers, who only have seven games left in the regular season, are in fifth place in the Western Conference with a record of 49-26, 12 1/2 games behind the first-place Warriors (61-13).

The Clippers now head to Portland to finish off a back-to-back against the Trail Blazers on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
