Girls’ volleyball: El Camino Real is the City Section Division I champion

Share

El Camino Real, the City Section school that wins championshps in seemingly every sport, added girls’ volleyball to its list of accomplishments on Saturday night.

Even though the Conquistadores lost to No. 1-seeded Carson in their first match of the season in five sets, they came out and dominated the Colts in the match that mattered most to come away with a 25-22, 25-15, 25-21 victory at Roybal in the City Section Division I final.

Kayla Jacks and Trinity Goodman once again made major contributions, along with Keshauna Williams, a Sylmar transfer who became eligible in October and was the key addition that put the Conquistadores over the top in City Section girls’ volleyball hierarchy. Lauryn Anderson finished with 11 kills and two blocks. Goodman had 12 kills and Williams added eight.
