The home of the late actor/comedian/television show host Jack Carter has come on the market in Beverly Hills at $5.995 million.

The Spanish-style home, built in 1926, sits behind walls amid mature trees. Inside, a graceful stairway in the foyer features an ornate wrought-iron banister and colorful tile risers. Beamed ceilings and arched doorways are among other details.

Nearly 4,500 square feet of living space includes a high-ceiling living room with a brick fireplace, a formal dining room, six bedrooms and five bathrooms. The breakfast room has a bay window that looks out on the backyard.

The third-acre flat lot includes a swimming pool, a detached garage, a motor court and lawn.

Carter, who died earlier this year at 93, had a career that spanned more than seven decades and included stints on Broadway and on television. He hosted the early TV variety show “Cavalcade of Stars” and later had a show bearing his name.

The actor continued to work up until last year when he appeared in the series “Shameless” and in the Stephen King thriller “Mercy.”

The house last sold in 1977 for $80,000.

Baron Steinbrecher of the Agency is the listing agent.
