Katy Perry’s latest fragrance went on sale Wednesday — on Twitter. Mad Potion can be purchased in the @KatyPerryPopUp using Twitter’s Buy Now card, and buyers will have access to some “exclusive Perry content,” WWD reports. It makes sense since Perry’s main Twitter feed has more than 72 million followers. (The fragrance will hit bricks-and-mortar stores later.)

The Met Costume Institute’s “China: Through the Looking Glass” exhibit, which opened May 7, is proving to be popular. It welcomed its 500,000th visitor Tuesday and is on track to surpass the record-breaking “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” exhibit of 2011. The museum has extended the China exhibit’s run through Labor Day.

Target’s facing a tempest in a T-shirt. Some in the Twitterverse scolded the retailer for a women’s tee that proclaims “Trophy” across the front. Objectification of women, they said. But some other Tweeters responded by saying, more or less, lighten up.

Band of Outsiders’ inventory and intellectual property (like trademarks) will be up for auction July 29, about two months after the L.A.-based label canceled fall orders and laid off staff.

On Wednesday, we posted about Nicki Minaj’s Twitter reaction to not being nominated for the VMAs’ Video of the Year (although she was nominated in several other categories) and Taylor Swift’s reaction to Minaj — who she thought was throwing shade at her. Not so. The tweets continued, the two ladies expressed their support for each other — but not before Ryan Seacrest, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Katy Perry had all gotten involved in some way.

Minaj clarified her point on Wednesday, writing: “Nothing to do with any of the women, but everything to do with a system that doesn’t credit black women for their contributions to pop culture as freely/quickly as they reward others. We are huge trendsetters, not second class citizens that get thrown crumbs. This isn’t anger. This is #information. It’s all love to MTV. Kisses to my fans and thank you for my 3 nominations.”

In ceremonies Tuesday night, this year’s Woolmark Prize was awarded to Tanya Taylor for womenswear and Siki Im for menswear.
