Girls’ basketball: Oaks Christian’s Katie Campbell makes impression in Palisades tournament

Katie Campbell of Oaks Christian made 10 three-pointers in a game last season, so the eight three-pointers she made on Wednesday night against Palisades was no surprise.

It was her 31-point performance that powered the Lions past Palisades, 79-59, in a quarterfinal game of the Palisades tournament.

Oaks Christian advances to a Friday semifinal against Cajon at 7 p.m. The other semifinal will match Chaminade against Ventura at 8:30 p.m.

In other quarterfinals, Cajon defeated Troy, 60-53. Barbara Sitanggan from scored 22 points. Kayla Washington from Cajon had 19 points.

Chaminade defeated Valencia, 68-57. Valerie Higgins had 18 points and Leaonna Odom 16. Kayla Konrad led Valencia with 21 points.

Ventura defeated LB Millikan, 56-51. Aubrey Knight scored 21 points for Ventura.
