Garden store Potted opens in Santa Monica in time for Memorial Day weekend

Share

Longtime Atwater Village garden store Potted will lend its modern vitality to Main Street in Santa Monica this weekend when it opens a satellite space at bohemian housewares retailer Lazybones.

The new Potted annex will be installed in a large outdoor space between Lazybones and CP Shades and will include the same design-driven outdoor products the original is known for: ceramics, fire pits, birdhouses and furnishings by French designer Fermob and Minnesota-based Loll.

“I see it as a curated Potted West,” said co-owner Annette Gutierrez, “with unusual plants, our own products, ready-made planters and gifts for the garden.”

Grand opening activities include tarot card readings from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; a vertical clay hanging planter demonstration with the Horticult at 3 p.m. Saturday; a raised-bed edible garden lesson with Conor Fitzpatrick of Fig Earth Supply at 11 a.m. Sunday; and a native plant container workshop with garden designer Margaret Oakley Otto at 3 p.m. Sunday.

If that’s not enough to lure you to Santa Monica, there will be giveaways from Bauer Pottery, Fermob and Lazybones as well as free Tillandsia plants for the first 50 people to show up each day.

Potted at Lazybones, 2929 Main St., Santa Monica. Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. www.pottedstore.com; (800) 240-8597
