Blake Lively went from ignorant to insane about costar Harrison Ford

Blake Lively hasn’t seen “Star Wars,” and she hadn’t seen any of the “Indiana Jones” films until the day before she started shooting “The Age of Adaline” with action star Harrison Ford.

“He’s Indiana Jones. It’s a huge deal!” the 27-year-old admitted on “The Tonight Show” on Tuesday. “I still haven’t seen ‘Star Wars’ ... I know, I know. Stop, stop, I saw the one with Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen. Does that count?”

No, Ms. Lively, it does not.

But wait, it gets worse: As her remarks drew boos from Fallon’s audience, Lively said that husband Ryan Reynolds agreed with that sentiment and had persuaded her to see some of Ford’s films before shooting. Apparently Lively was already familiar with the actor on a personal level but, on a professional level, her context didn’t account for his blockbuster career.

“I went to dinner with Harrison, I was so cool,” she said. “He was the dude with the earring that was married to Calista Flockhart, which was awesome!”

So, millennial that she is, Lively binge-watched the “Indiana Jones” films the night before she started shooting “Adaline,” in which the 72-year-old plays her character’s former flame. (It makes sense if you know that this a movie about a woman who’s eternally 29.) After that, with Indy on the brain, she felt as if Ford “needed to talk” to her about it.

“I thought, ‘OK, for the few weeks that we work together, I’m just not gonna say ‘Indiana Jones,’ and every other word was like, ‘Indiana Jones, Indiana Jones’ in my head,” Lively admitted.

“And then I thought, ‘OK, at the end of the first day, it’s been long enough, it’s been a few hours. That’s kind of like three weeks, but different,’” she continued. “So, I just thought he was just dying to talk to me about it for some reason. I just felt it. Even though he hasn’t talked about it in 30 years, I saw all three the night before, so he wanted to talk to me about it.”

The blond star said that she had been invited to take a ride home on the action star’s helicopter and that she was totally “in,” so she could go ahead and inquire about his filmography -- that is, until she brought up the sword-fight scene from “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and a few other iconic moments from the franchise.

“And he just like stared at me,” she said. Now, this was before they even got in the helicopter.

“And I just I kept talking to him and he wasn’t finding those scenes exciting, I thought maybe it just didn’t jog his memory.”

So she kept pushing, getting overly excited, and the crew was gawking at her as she was “just imploding in the corner.”

When she got home, Reynolds said that now she had to start ignoring Ford in order to recover from her epic fail. So she played it cool the next day and kept it professional the rest of the time.

“He must think that I have some sort of major disorder,” she said. “The whole thing is, you gotta get invited [to the helicopter] again. You got the golden ticket taken away.”

The “Gossip Girl” alum said she hadn’t seen Ford since they wrapped filming and isn’t even sure he’ll talk to her at the premiere.

“I think he’s avoiding me. I think this whole thing was just a ruse to avoid me,” she quipped. “I think he’s just intimidated by me, that’s probably what’s happening. He watched all the ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ films and he’s like, ‘And then the scene with the jeans!’”

Yeah, totally. And Han didn’t shoot first either...

Now does anyone have the heart to tell her there are four “Indiana Jones” movies?
