Looks like it’s not bad to have Nicki Minaj on your side: Meek Mill was sentenced Friday to house arrest for a probation violation that could have seen him back behind bars.

The rapper, real name Robert Williams, was given a prison term of six to 12 months by the judge in a Philadelphia court and then immediately paroled to 90 days of house arrest, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Minaj, who’d testified vigorously on her 28-year-old boyfriend’s behalf in December, didn’t speak during the hearing Friday but appeared to be crying at one point during the judge’s remarks, the Associated Press said.

While Mill is under house arrest, he’ll do community service for organizations that work with adults, not kids, and will wear an ankle monitor, the Inquirer said, but that service is the only work he can do: no performing, recording or releasing music will be allowed.

After 90 days, the court will reassess the situation and decide whether he stays under house arrest, TMZ reported.

Mill also is now on probation for six more years.

The current situation -- the judge ruled on Dec. 17 that he was in “technical violation” of his probation after changing up his court-approved travel schedule, sometimes to be near Minaj, and turning in a suspect sample for drug testing -- stems from a 2008 conviction on drug-dealing and gun charges.

In 2008, he was sentenced to 11 to 23 months in prison, served only a few months and was paroled the next year on five years’ probation. However, he violated his parole a number of times between then and now, and in 2014 his probation was revoked, leading to about four months back in prison. He got out Dec. 2 of that year.
